SENIOR DESIGNER -(Architect/Technical Designer)

Job Summary:

The SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER evaluates, selects, and performs in a self-directed manner throughout the interior design process, including preparation and assist senior team members. Responsibilities include preparation of presentation materials, schematic design, design development, design intent and guideline drawings and documents within an established budget, schedule, site and programmatic requirements, development revit drawings and construction documentation.Work directly with architecture firms to assure all technical drawings are completed accurately. Further to organize project filing and construction administration. Assist senior team member with design team, along with construction administration activities, vendor relations and the interface with clients.

Education:

• Associates of Arts in Interior Design/Architecture, minimum

• Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Interior Design/Architecture preferred

• All Degrees must come from a CIDA Accredited Design program or equivalent accredited Architectural program

Your Profile:

- 5-8 years experience in professional hospitality projects

- Associates of Arts in Interior Design/Architecture- Bachelor/ Master’s Degree in Interior Design/Architecture, preferred- All Degrees must come from a CIDA Accredited Design program or equivalent accredited Architectural program

- Strong knowledge of design theory and principals

- Knowledge of hospitality construction materials and FF&E sources/specifications

- NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, TDLR certification preferred

- AutoCAD & Revit required

- Advanced Graphic Design skills with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite and Sketch Up preferred

- Presentation Drawing and Board Fabrication- Advanced knowledge of Color & Materials- Demonstrate collaborative & professional work ethic- Good verbal and written communication skills- Strong drawing and hand drafting/sketching skills, a plus- Ability to embrace company culture, uphold initiatives and apply creatively towards all internal and external projects

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical

• Produce AutoCAD/REVIT and manually generated design intent documents; inclusive of elevations, details and schedules

• Assist with Graphic Presentations and digital/manually generated design presentations

• Perform tasks according to company Standards and Project Delivery Methods

• Process the review of shop drawings and other submittals / review with senior team member prior to issuance

• Work with project consultants (i.e. AOR,MEP,KEC….), inclusive of project throughout project duration

• Understand the use and management of web-based FTP sites for the uploading, review and distribution of project data

• Understand governing code compliance as it applies to interior architectural design projects • Assist and monitor accuracy of design intent and guideline drawings/documents, material specifications and overall budgets for a design project

• Responsible for quality control/”redlining” of coordination drawings

• Participate in site visits and installations, as required by the senior team member

Management

• Responsible for organizing and maintaining accurate record of all Architectural drawings

• Maintain accurate time records of all project related assignments

• Provide administrative support for other departments, as required

• Clearly communicate in written and verbal form with team members, project consultants, and clients when directed by senior team member

• Monitor and promptly report progress on tasks and assignments

• Attend client meetings as requested by the senior team member and provide necessary documentation of meetings with follow up minute notes

• Meet regularly with the senior team member(s), as requested, to better understand the design direction, project challenges, schedules and upcoming deadlines

• Assist and monitor quality control preparation of all documents, specifications, budgets and material boards

• Assist with the direction and mentorship of design team.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

:• highly skilled in Auto CAD and REVIT

Knowledge and understanding of REVIT, required

• Advanced graphic skills with use of PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop and Sketch Up, preferred

• Presentation Drawing and Board Fabrication

• Advanced knowledge of Color & Materials

• Demonstrate collaborative & professional work ethic

• Good verbal and written communication skills
