This career opportunity is one of a kind. If you are passionate about high end hospitality design and love elevating your design team, this position is for you. This is the "second in command" role where you would collaborate directly with the Design Principal. If you have organic leadership ability, this is a huge plus as it's focus for the team is mentorship, not reporting to you as an HR function. You will be involved directly in all aspects of the design from conception to install. Furthermore, if you thrive on client interaction, you will have a role in client presentations and being one of the key faces for the firm.

Qualifications 12+ years of broad design experience with emphasis on hospitality projects Interior Design License
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of design process, experience with space planning, construction documentation, construction administration, furniture and specialty lighting specification Proficient in review of other discipline drawings Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills Ability to work on multiple projects with varying timelines Ability to manage team with tactful leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external Possess excellent communications skills and a team attitude, and the ability to contribute to a positive and effective firm environment
Facility with both manual and technology-based design tools such as working knowledge of CAD/or Revit and proficiency in Spexx software
Must be self-sufficient, organized, exhibit good judgement and resourcefulness, driven to excel and participate in all facets of design
Ability to travel
Play a lead role in the design and documentation of FF&E for various hospitality projects Planning and producing work requiring seasoned judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Coordination with clients, purchasing agents and vendors to bring all project details to fruition. Preparing designs, drawings, renderings and presentations, evaluating and selecting materials and furnishings, making artwork selections, and reviewing compliance of work in the field to the contract documents. Writing specifications and reports; preparing FF&E budgets. Checking completed specifications, plans, estimates, budgets, reports and calculations. Devising new approaches and solutions to problems encountered. Work with others through all project phases to enhance the design by specializing in the FF&E sourcing, selection, custom design and specification Lead conceptual FF&E design for select projects and participate in design development Actively participate in key design presentations Build and strengthen connections with clients through a comprehensive understanding of their project mission, goals, policies, and needs
Communicate design solutions to clients in a clear and compelling way
Demonstrate how client requirements are interpreted in design solutions Proactively seek information about client requirements and demonstrate how they are interpreted in design solutions Engage and lead clients in explorations that respectfully challenge their understanding of appropriate design and stimulates their thinking about solutions Play a key role in the overall growth and development of the firm through quality control and overall implementation of best practices for the FF&E process and implementation Collaborate with firm leadership to establish and maintain best practices Champion design quality through all phases of a project Act as mentor; coaching and motivating project team members and assisting in recruiting activities Be an active member of industry organizations and events Support and participate in business development efforts Participate in developing the practice through the maintaining long term client relationships
