Position Overview

The Interiors Project Architect performs architectural design and development work for projects involving construction of the interiors of new buildings and the alteration of existing buildings and facilities. As part of a team with technical prowess and great design integrity, we offer the opportunity to work on high-profile projects in an exciting, progressive, studio environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in executing hospitality projects to team members, client and contractors from early design through construction administration
  • Work with clients to identify objectives and formulate options
  • Establish key work priorities for development of design, documentation, scheduling and budgeting
  • Collaborate with project teams, Interpret design concepts and translate them into workable construction systems
  • Evaluate, select and apply advanced architectural and design methods with responsibility for project assignments including programming, design development, coordination and production of construction documents
  • Evaluate and integrate engineering systems and implement code, accessibility and zoning analysis
  • Evaluate alternatives in order to develop solutions while maintaining technical quality, code compliance and design control
  • Lead project structural, mechanical, plumbing and acoustical engineers to ensure an integrated approach and coordinate project requirements
  • Be involved with coordinating contractors, consultants and vendor assignments
  • Prepare designs, working drawings, specifications and coordinate cost estimates for projects
  • Maintain records to document phases of project
  • Lead the work of other team members, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Participate in marketing efforts, including presentations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in interiors and/or the architectural field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience creating and managing full construction documentation for large scale, hospitality and residential projects of all scope (new build and renovations)
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree
  • NCARB licensure a plus
  • Revit, AutoCAD, PhotoShop, SketchUp, Studio Designer and MS Office
  • Advanced knowledge of built environment practices and methods
  • Extensive hands-on experience and understanding of the design and construction of interior architecture spaces
  • Strong programming and conceptualization skills
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and regulations
  • Strong documentation and field observation skills with an understanding of how documents translate to contractors
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills
  • Able to interpret and incorporate abstract concepts into concise, accurate drawings and details
